Our articles and stories focus on what’s Going On, with a special emphasis on special events, happy hours, bars, restaurant promotions, and other activities to get you off the sofa.  We promote community activities and events because we believe that a strong engagement is the key to great neighborhoods.

We Do Not talk about COVID, who is following guidelines and who is not.  We don’t offer reviews and we don’t do polls on who has the best chicken sandwiches in town; there are other sites that do that, go there instead.  We give you ideas and options to get you out of the house and see what’s Going On in your community and how to support your local businesses.

Going On Near Me is founded in 2020 by Stuart Takehara, a Long Beach entrepreneur and business owner.  As a small business owner and former Corporate Sales and Marketing executive, Stuart knows how hard it can be for a small business to stand out, especially when advertising dollars are tight and competition is fierce.  Going On Near Me is designed to solve this problem for small business owners, with many free and low cost advertising opportunities for small businesses.
